Nevada has played a huge role in Kellie's life as well. Kellie is a third generation Nevadan. Kellie grew up in south Reno with her parents and twin brother. As a young girl, she found a love for sports. She went on to play volleyball and basketball throughout high school and then played volleyball at UNR. During her four years there, she met her husband, and fellow UNR athlete, Chris Gimenez.

Kellie and Chris got married in 2009 and moved all over the country for Chris' professional baseball career. When Kellie was pregnant with their first son, the couple moved back to Reno and decided to raise their family in Northern Nevada. Now with three children, the Gimenez family can't imagine calling anywhere else home. They love the four seasons, proximity to outdoor activities, gorgeous mountains and blue skies.

Kellie created Fit 36 Clothing Co with Morgan as a way to combine her love for athletics with her love for Nevada. We love that our fitness and athleisure apparel can not only be used in gyms and for at-home fitness, but also to explore the amazing outdoor adventures that Northern Nevada has to offer.

Nevada plays a prominent role in our family's history.  As a child, my grandfather told me stories on our drives around the state. He told me about his experiences, the landmarks that stood the test of time and his love for Nevada. For him and our whole family, home means Nevada.

 As my college years approached, I had the opportunity to leave the area, but my heart wouldn’t let me. I couldn’t pass up the possibilities that were here in Reno. I’m thankful every day for staying in my hometown. I met my husband, Brandon, at the University of Nevada, Reno. As student athletes, we experienced the competition of Division I athletics while pursuing business degrees. When we graduated, we couldn’t wait to start our careers in Reno.

 Not only did our career paths keep us local but we wanted to raise our family in Nevada. Our children are fourth generation Nevadans. We are proud to raise them in a community with a rich history, beautiful landscapes and a thriving future.

 I created State 36 Clothing Co. as a tribute to my grandfather’s passion for Nevada and ambition for a better life. This business is a reflection of the love and support from my family and my desire to share Nevada’s history with all of those who love this state.  As a mother to native Nevadans, I am grateful that I get to share our family's stories and how much our state has grown over the past century with my daughters.

With every product created for State 36, I am determined to offer quality and comfortable products. This is no different for Fit 36 Clothing Co.
